When a guest of a hotel isn\u2019t happy or a mistake has been made, being able to refund or void a transaction is necessary within your PMS is necessary.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:quote --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \/wp:group --><!-- wp:heading {\"kioblocks\":[]} --><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"6283\">What is a void on a card payment?<\/h2>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph {\"kioblocks\":[]} --><\/p>\n<p id=\"f60e\">When a guest uses a credit or debit card to make a payment to a hotel or accommodation, the details can be stored securely through the Hotel\u2019s Property Management System (PMS) with embedded payments.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph {\"kioblocks\":[]} --><\/p>\n<p id=\"92a5\">If that transaction needs to be reversed before the hotel\u2019s account has been settled for the day, i.e. sent the transactions through to the payments provider, the payment can be voided and won\u2019t ever be debited from the customer.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading {\"kioblocks\":[]} --><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"7e04\">What is a refunded card payment?<\/h2>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph {\"kioblocks\":[]} --><\/p>\n<p id=\"2d58\">A lot of the time, a guest will ask a hotel for a refund days or weeks after the payment was processed.
